Marilyn's Story
In the early 1990’s, Marilyn Overcast, founder of the Fluent Communication, began a long-term practice that captured her full attention eight to ten hours a day. Beginning each day at sunrise with meditation in a gymnastic studio, Marilyn practiced t’ai chi until 4 pm when the gym officially opened. Some months into her practice, while standing in the universal post position, her body started to move on its own, starting with a simple hand movement. Intrigued by this development, the next day Marilyn enthusiastically assumed the universal post position and waited, relaxing, muscles resting on the bones while witnessing the inner experience and silence. Her right hand once again moved involuntarily and now changed from a simple clockwise to a figure eight motion. There was no way to question the cause, yet it felt right. Over the next days, the movements became more intricate, and involved other parts of the body until, eventually, Marilyn was moving around the entire room into positions being created by an energy system she came to view as her best friend. She spent countless hours silently witnessing herself in motion, counting patterns, experiencing rhythms and vibrations while experiencing greater health and vitality. Two years into her silent practice, what had become a constantly moving force suddenly stopped. Silent observation was shattered and her reasoning mind darted with fear and questions, wondering if the energy would return. Her right hand rose up and wrote a ‘yes.’ After thinking “Should I continue my practice today?” her hand wrote ‘no.’ She then wondered if she should get a pencil and paper to which her hand wrote, ‘yes.’ This discovery of automatic writing led to the discovery of other life forms in other universes, though Marilyn had no previous realization of more than one universe or other life forms.
As a massage therapist, she continued her education with the study of energy healing techniques and shared the sacred movements from her personal practice in healing sessions with few people. While giving a massage to one confidant, with her left hand under the client’s neck, the other on the forehead, her right hand started to move. Safe with the implicit trust between friends, Marilyn silently observed patterns and sequences until her hand stopped moving. The client then opened her eyes and exclaimed, “I do not know what you just did but I feel like a new person!” Healing experiences and the number of clients increased over the coming months.
Many times Marilyn would be asked if she could teach this fascinating work but she consistently received the answer No, you must have the ability to tap into the Universal Conscious Mind to discover the heart of dis-ease. You must continue your work, refining and deepening your personal understanding to the extent that you can teach it to others. Several years later, when she asked again, Marilyn received the answer Yes, teach one person well enough so they can teach one other person. You must teach teachers and this is the way the truth and the light of the work will spread. One man was sent 2000 years ago to show all humans the way to paradise and they did not listen. Now one person at a time must be taught. The very next week a class started.
In June 2000, given permission to teach others how to speak the language of God, Marilyn fully understood her authentic purpose as a ‘teacher of teachers – a liberator.’
Previously Marilyn felt as though she had walked to the edge of embracing her connection and alignment with Universal Consciousness several times, but her spiritual and physical realities were in conflict. She was attached to a life of marriage with three children, fearful and immobilized by wanting both. She felt the beauty and Truth of her connection with family but was faced with their fears and desires, while wanting to recognize each authentically. God’s message was to know me as thy self and her marriage said, ‘deny the spirit and stay with the truth of this relationship, the foundation of memories building a life that will leave a legacy.’ In the early days, her work as a ‘spiritual’ massage therapist was somewhat on the fringe in the eyes of most of her community, especially on the topic of automatic writing. Yet she knew that connection with this essence was essential to her survival, not physically, but to the survival of her authentic self. The marriage dissolved, and Fluent relationships evolved.
Over the last ten years Marilyn has assisted people of many labels, from psychologists to politicians, actors to students. Many have surrendered old ways of being to embrace the authentic gifts experienced through Fluent Communication. They express gratitude, as they become artists, writers, musicians, healers and teachers who are inspired by their connection and ability to assist others.
Marilyn says of her Fluent Communication experience: “The voice from within each human being, the essence of all life that orchestrates the wonders of each moment is within each of us. The experience came to me naturally, as a gift over years of practice, through silent discipline. Though my mind could not identify it, my heart knew it was right, a comforting, healing companionship that strengthened my belief in myself. Through its mysterious unfolding, it led me out of a crippled state of existence to my highest potential. The guidance system assisted me in finding my way to who I am, why I am here, my purpose, and made tools available to assist others in doing the same.”
She is clear that all of her relationships have lead her to this point of implicit clarity about her journey. She has deep gratitude for all who have played a part in her journey and is very appreciative for all who come to this experience and have found their own way back to who they are authentically. She continues to travel and teach and holds the invitation open to all who are ready to say Yes to the Fluent Communication experience.
